Ihave two published books. Savant came after I woke from an anaesthetic with the germ of a plot in my head. It’s a novelette about an intriguing murder mystery in the early Dark Ages.
Writing Savant aroused the fascination I already had for this historical period, and I wrote Denua, a Historical Fiction novel about extraordinary events which are seen through the eyes of a Warrior Queen. Her adventures span the coming of the Anglo-Saxons to Britain, and events in Gaul, including the rescue of the original “Princess in the Tower”. The story is based upon known history, but with some of the intriguing blanks filled in with my story. I use my great grandfather’s surname as my pen-name – “Philip Gregge”. I studied Optometry in Birmingham, where I became a Christian. After I qualified I went on to study theology at a college in Birmingham and currently I’m part of the leadership team of a charismatic church. I enjoy teaching theology and I’m the author of a Systematic Theology training manual. I have a website called ‘Let’s Ask Phil’, in which I answer a range of theological questions.
I was an optician in Rugby for over forty years, much of that time in my own practice.
I’m married to Anji and we have three adult sons. In my spare time I enjoy playing Mah-Jong particularly with my Grandson who seems to beat me every time.
